PAMIP Phase 2 Workshop

PAMIP phase 2 virtual workshop announcement: Registration is now open ! 

Dear colleagues,

We invite you to participate in the Polar Amplification Model Intercomparison phase 2 (PAMIP2) workshop to be held virtually October 22 - October 25, 2024, from 14:00-17:30 GMT (not full day, please see below for local times). The purpose of the workshop is to share scientific results, to review recent progress, to facilitate collaborative studies based on the PAMIP multi-model experiment database, and design the PAMIP2 protocol. Registration and abstract submission are currently open until July 31, 2024 and can be completed here.  

The format of the workshop will be as follows. Day 1 and day 2 will focus on recent progress and updates from the PAMIP community, with presentations selected from submitted abstracts. On day 3, we will review what we have learned from PAMIP, with invited overview talks and breakout discussions. On day 4, we will seek to identify the key outstanding questions and discuss how they can inform the protocol for PAMIP2. We hope outcomes of the workshop will be a review paper on results from PAMIP so far, with contributions from participants, and a community white paper laying out our vision for PAMIP2.

The entire workshop will be recorded and posted on a google drive, for registered participants only. While a virtual workshop has its challenges, we hope that the live sessions, breakout groups and recordings will serve to foster a sense of community and connect us in our common PAMIP-related interests.
